Sometimes the river roars, sometimes it sleeps...

Each night, we relaxed and watched the campfire dance.

We watched the sun set for hours over the river... so peaceful.

Evening sun glistens off the water.

We saw quite a few elk along shore, including these two. (Click for a larger version of the photo.)

Getting up early paid off at Notikewin Provincial Park! Several walleye (pickerel) and a 90-cm long pike! Delicious!

We only had winds favourable for sailing 3 times. But when we did, it was sure fun! This is the view of the back of the sail.

Looking down the length of the 18-foot-long sweep oar. By making sideways strokes, we found the boat quite easy to manoeuvre.

The flag we flew was known as "the Canadian Red Ensign." It has a Union Jack in the corner and a coat of arms. This was the Canadian flag from 1868-1921.

See an illustration on this wikipedia page.

Although we saw several bears along the shore, this was the only one we saw with a blond (or cinnamon) cub.
