Spend a day on the water!

We have 3 suggestions for day trips. You can do this even if you’re only in High Level for short time, or if you’re driving through town on a road trip and getting a little tired of… the road! We’ll meet you in town so you can follow us to the lake (or river), or you can meet us at the water. We’ll transport the canoe(s) or kayak(s) for you. When you are done paddling, drive back to High Level, or continue on your road trip.

Footner Lake
Spend a relaxing day on the water, exploring in the reeds and paddling beside beaver lodges. Footner Lake is 10 km north of High Level.
Full day (5-8 hrs): $45/boat
Half day (2-4 hrs): $35/boat

Hutch Lake
Hutch Lake is home to many ducks, gulls, and even lynx. Pick a few wild raspberries (in August)! Hutch Lake is about 30 km north of High Level.

Hay River
Paddle a lovely section of the Hay River starting in Meander River (80 km North of High Level). We’ll drive your vehicle to the end point, about 16 km downstream. The trip is 2.5 – 4.5 hrs on the water (3.5 – 6.5 hrs including driving). If you’re on a road trip headed north, you can simply jump back in your vehicle and resume your trip!
Cost: $50/boat
