A great idea for:

• or just friends getting together!

Host a Canoe Party!

For a great canoe party, all you need are the canoes, a campfire, and some food. We supply the canoes, firewood, paper and matches so you can have a campfire after paddling. You supply whatever food, drinks and dessert you want.

Includes:
– Nifty invitations you can send to everyone (or use as posters)
– Canoe rentals
– Safety equipment such as lifejackets, rope, bailer, and whistles
– Safety briefing & tips on canoeing for those who are a little rusty!
– Transportation of canoes to the lake
– Wood to make a campfire (unless there is a fire ban) — we can build it, or let you have that fun!
– Loading the canoes and transporting them back to High Level when the paddling’s done (you can stay at the lake longer if you like). At Hutch Lake or Machesis, you can camp overnight if there are sites available.

Details and FAQs

How many people can come?
Our party packages are for 10 to 30 people (see prices at lower right). We’ll round to the nearest number. If there are less than 10 of you, just call for more info.

When can we do it?
You can book your party for any time that works for you – weekend or weekday, morning, afternoon or evening (paddling lasts around 4-6 hrs).

Where can we go?
The best places to host these parties are Footner Lake, Hutch Lake, or Machesis Lake, but let us know if you have somewhere else in mind – we are flexible!

How it works:
We’ll have everything at the lake and ready to go at the agreed-upon time. You and your group arrive and decide who will paddle first. Normally, 10 people can go at a time, so for groups of 20 or 30, paddling will happen in shifts. The other people can build the fire, enjoy it, and/or eat while they wait.

What to bring:
Bring whatever food or drink you’d like, keeping in mind that wieners, smokies and smores are great with a campfire! Bring folding camp chairs, and some bug spray.

Only a Few Rules…
All participants will have to sign a waiver. For safety everyone must wear a lifejacket (which we provide) and we have a strict rule about no drinking alcohol and paddling (afterwards is up to you)!

What about kids?
Kids are welcome! For head-counting purposes, please count 2 school-age kids (age 6 – 11) as one adult, and kids 12 and over as adults. Kids under 6 are free and not included in the count. Please advise us when you book how many children you think will be there. We have several children’s lifejackets, but parents should also bring any kids’ lifejackets they have. Parents are responsible for their children’s safety and there is no lifeguard. All children must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult (over 18), such as a friend’s parent, aunt or uncle.

Booking your party:
Canoes are available on a first-come first-served basis, with a 20% deposit down to reserve the date you want. You can also try at the last minute and we’ll accomodate you if we can!
